One of the things I like about a beach holiday, aside from going to the beach, is just being. There is not much else to do besides swim, eat, read and relax. By being, I notice things that I might not otherwise – like the flutter of the palms as the breeze blows and the sun light flashes through them; the fresh smell of the air with a tinge of salt; the size of the coconuts ten feet above me, wondering when they will fall. What I like is the time and inclination to notice, to wonder, to be.
