‘To thine own self be true’ sometimes feels as complicated as a jigsaw puzzle. Start with the things about yourself you know are so: your physical traits, your location, your passions and concerns. These form the edges of your truth, the borders. Then add what you know is true in creation: The sun comes up every day giving light and warmth to you. The trees and plants provide the oxygen you breathe. A seed you plant in fertile ground multiplies itself. Then in the center put the pieces you know but sometimes doubt: angels and other unseen light beings offer you guidance and protection. If you ask them, they will complete your puzzle. Being true to yourself, it will follow as the night, the day, you won’t be false to any other. That is integrity.
