Day 43 Lantana, FL

There is a small park outside the building where I’m staying, with an access ramp for kayaks to enter the Intercoastal Waterway. I’m sitting on a bench there in the sun because it is a bit cool and very breezy today.

The bike that comes with the condo is beside me. There are two names on her skinny frame – BOULDER and GIANT. Neither one seems to suit her so I have decided to call her BG Blue. She has more gears then Schwinn, no fenders but a basket in the front. I’m still getting used to the different feel and balance, riding BG.

Change – even if it’s a change you like – comes with adjustments. I’m slowly feeling into the new, one step at a time. I rode across the bridge, over the Intercoastal to the end of East Ocean Drive. The Lantana beach looked lovely but it remains closed.

I imagine the Atlantic and all the sea life in her, must be very happy for the respite. They say the water and air quality in most places around the world has improved dramatically. We’re all adjusting. Let’s hope some of our adjustments lead us toward a better way of living – post Covid and not just during – in harmony with nature and each other.
