Twenty-four years ago, I moved to Cusco Peru to help create the vision of my shamanic teacher: a spiritual center in the Sacred Valley where people from around the world of different faiths and traditions, would gather together. Paz y Luz (Peace & Light) was born in 2003, in the small Andean village of Pisac. I was one of two foreigners living here at the time. Now there are hundreds. We’ve had many spiritual gatherings here over the years. Today 40 adults and 9 children will come together for a shared meal. We are from France, Canada, Germany, England, Mozambique, South Africa, Japan, Russia, Sweden, Ukraine, Australia, Peru, Hungary, New Zealand, Spain, Chile, Poland and the USA.
I’m making a 10 kilo/22 lb. turkey with gravy while all the guest will bring food to share from their respective countries. We are blessed here to know that people from different backgrounds and traditions can live and work and thrive together. May it be so around the world. We have so much to be grateful for.
