Triggers

Trying to fix or change someone else is folly and will only lead to frustration. Asking yourself why you have that impulse will help you identify what the person is triggering in you. When you feel discomfort or irritation, imagine the other is holding up a mirror for you to look at yourself and your desire to correct what you see is wrong or problematic. Turn your attention from the one you want to fix, to yourself. Feel what you are feeling. Hold the feeling in your hands and observe it with compassion and awareness. This is the path of self-care. Honor your process.
