BEACH PROCESSING

I just took my first swim in the Atlantic since they closed the beaches almost 9 weeks ago. The sea is calm, the sky overcast and the sensation of floating in the salt water refreshing and revitalizing.

I’m still processing my visit to Jupiter yesterday where I saw my mom briefly and had lunch with Dennis and Sharon in a restaurant, sitting outside with a view of the Yacht Club harbor on the Inland Waterway. It was a beautiful day, sunny yet not too hot. The poor wait-staff were wearing masks so the might disagree with the “not too hot” part.

Dennis and Sharon had seen Mom the day before for the arranged visit in the garden, helping me to know what to expect later this week when I have mine. It was good to see them and catch up on all the news. My plan is to visit Mom once a week as long as I’m here which I suppose will be at least another month so we can celebrate my mom’s birthday on June 14th.

On Facebook this morning I saw four different reports from doctors, scientists, even an Italian Congresswoman, all shedding new light on the one might call manipulation and misrepresentations regarding Covid-19 and the subsequent closures. It’s hopeful for the possibility of systemic change and not just the lifting of some restrictions.

It remains unclear when I’ll be able to return home to Pisac or if I’ll go to Europe for my workshops or how the world will change or not over these next few months. Being in nature remains my solace and inspiration. Bike riding, kayaking and writing keeps my creative juices flowing and my mind and heart open to new possibilities.
